I have been researching this and there is not a lot of information on it. I really didn't even know they were called lie bumps. They are really annoying but not contagious. I have read a lot that it has to do with certain foods or biting your tongue. I have not found anything stating that it might have something to do with exposure to extreme heat, which is something that I have heard since I was small. I think it does have to do with heat exposure because I spent a few hours out in 105f weather and got a few after several hours.

Thaaaaaank you for posting this! I have been looking for an answer to what these bumps are for the longest time. None of my friends seem to get them and even some of my doctors didn't know.
