This is a beautiful article Eric and I thank you, most sincerely for writing it. I know that it will give great hope and inspiration to many, musicians and physicians alike. I have long held the belief that music is more powerful than we presently understand and I applaud and commend Connie Tomaino's conviction and determination in resolutely following her "heartsong" ... without which many lives would not have been so joyfully and profoundly touched. What an inspiring woman!

Great piece Eric! I really like the way you wove the story of the one patient into the work (and life) of the therapist. And I particularly enjoyed seeing how Tomaino herself combined two passions -- music and medicine. How fulfilled we'd all be if we could do the same. ... think music and politics (Bono), art and statecraft (Churchill), science and journalism (Olson)!
